Diagnosis

M. J. Vendrasco et al. 2009 (Ocruranus subpentaedrus)	Skeleton that consists of three types of bilaterally symmetrical shell plates. Main shell plate (Ocruranus subpentaedrus sensu stricto; tail valve?) up to 1.5 mm long, highly arched, a bit wider than long, furrow underneath apex; with pronounced sub-apical shelf underneath furrow, sub-apical margin straight or with emargination. Intermediate valve about 0.5 to 1 mm long, with butterfly outline produced by lateral margins that are rounded and an emargination at the anterior and posterior mid- point. Apparent head valve (Eohalobia Type A) roughly equidi- mensional, with emargination between rounded projections at the posterior margin.
