Taxonomy
Acanthoceras prorsocurvatum was named by Gerhardt (1897). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ralphimlayites prorsocurvatum by Etayo Serna (1979); it was recombined as Prolyelliceras prorsocurvatum by Kennedy and Klinger (2008) and Latil et al. (2009).
