Dielasma orientalis was named by Grabau (1931) [Dielasma elongatum var. orientalis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jisu Honguer Limestone Undivided, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in the Zhesi Formation of China.
