Apricardia was named by Guéranger (1853) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-l K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 914,972]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Diceratidae by Palmer (1928); to Requieniidae by Steuber (2002); to Hippuritoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Requieniinae by Skelton (2013).
