Taxonomy
Septacamera stupenda was named by Grant (1971). Its type specimen is USNM 163628 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2452, Pybus Cliff, Halleck Harbor, Kuiu Island, which is in a Wordian marine limestone in the Pybus Formation of Alaska.
