Taxonomy
Septacamera pybensis was named by Grant (1971). Its type specimen is USNM 163640 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2547, Pybus Bay, East Side East Arm, Admiralty Island, which is in a Wordian marine limestone in the Pybus Formation of Alaska.
