Taxonomy
Callaiapsida kekuensis was named by Grant (1971). Its type specimen is USNM 163655 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 68A-Fs-18, Keku Islet (northernmost islet), Keku Strait, which is in an Asselian marine siltstone in the Halleck Formation of Alaska.
