Taxonomy
Gerassimovia pamirica was named by Grunt (1973). Its type specimen is PIN 2228/36 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kur-Istik 1, Upper Takhtabulak Fm, which is in a Changhsingian marine limestone in the Takhtabulak Formation of Tajikistan.
