Taxonomy
Posicomta zaalaica was named by Grunt (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3599/815 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kashkasu River, Locality 1108b, Transalai Range, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Kashkasu Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
