Zuluscaphites was named by Van Hoepen (1955) [Distribution: Upper Albian; France, Spain and Zululand (South Africa). Occurence in the Middle Albian is doubtfull.]. Its type is Zuluscaphites orycteropusi.
It was assigned to Stoliczkaiinae by Kennedy and Delamette (1994); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Salaziceratinae by Szives (2007).
