Taxonomy
Tylonautilus permicus was named by Hayasaka (1957). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is G2-zawa Valley, T7, Takakura-yama Mountain, Iwaki City, which is in a Capitanian marine shale in the Takakurayama Formation of Japan.
