Taxonomy
Tainoceras kitakamiense was named by Hayasaka (1962). Its type specimen is NSM 5261 (Tokyo) and is a cast. Its type locality is Imo, IGPS It044, Yahagi, Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Kanokura Formation of Japan.
