Taxonomy
Anagymnotoceras variabilis was named by Bucher (1992). Its type specimen is USNM 444108 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McCoy Mine HB 212, New Pass Range, which is in a Bithynian offshore limestone/siltstone in the Favret Formation of Nevada.
