Miogypsina was named by Sacco (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u T Mi-m]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Orbitoididae by Cushman (1927); to Miogypsinidae by Hayward (1972); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
