Joufia was named by Boehm (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-l K Maes-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Hippuritoida by Sepkoski (2002); to Joufiinae by Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Radiolitidae by Steuber (2002) and Skelton (2013).
