Taxonomy
Pseudocarniaphyllum orientale was named by Wu (1962). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Desheng Ay44, Xinhui, Yishan County, which is in an Asselian carbonate limestone in the Maping Formation of China. It is the type species of Pseudocarniaphyllum.

It was recombined as Pavastehphyllum (Pseudocarniaphyllum) orientale by Minato and Kato (1965).
