Paramegalodus was named by Cox (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae]. It is not extant. Its type is Dicerocardium eupalliatum.
It was assigned to Hippuritoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Megalodontidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
