Taxonomy
Derbyia gigantea was named by Kalashnikov (1993). Its type specimen is KNTs UrO PAN 279/25 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sula River, Sakmarian, Northern Timan Mountains, which is in a Sakmarian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
