Taxonomy
Carabites harringtoni was named by Cockerell (1936). Its type specimen is AMNH 24522, an elytra, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Ranges east of Sierra Santa Barbara, which is in a Paleocene lacustrine - small mudstone in the Maíz Gordo Formation of Argentina.
