Taxonomy
Spiriferella borealica was named by Kalashnikov (1998). Its type specimen is PIN 4605/55 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tab-Yo River, Outcrop 94, Sample 2435, Pai-Khoy Range, which is in a Kungurian marine siliciclastic in the Talata Formation of the Russian Federation.
