Taxonomy
Cirpa himalaica was named by Jin et al. (1976). Its type specimen is NIGP 28732 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nieniexiongla JSB79, Nyalam County, which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in the Nieniexiongla Formation of China.
