Taxonomy
Spirelytha grandis was named by Klets (1987). Its type specimen is PGO k-1438-2/7, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yudoma River K-1438, Khanalichan-Khayrindzha Watershed, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Marsrutninskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
