Taxonomy
Pseudophillipsia (Pseudophillipsia) spatulifera was named by Kobayashi and Hamada (1980). It is a mold. Its type locality is Kamiyatsuse, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Kanokura Formation of Japan.

It was recombined as Pseudophillipsia (Nodiphillipsia) spatulifera by Kobayashi and Hamada (1984) and Kobayashi and Hamada (1984).
