Taxonomy
Anomalopleuroidea was named by Cox (1964) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr u]. It is not extant. Its type is Anomalopleura elisae.

It was corrected as Anomalopleuroides by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pholadomyidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
