Grammysioidea was named by Williams (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl C Step Sepkoski's reference number: 1058]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Grammysiidae by Vokes (1980); and to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002) and Nevesskaja (2009).
