Cytoracia was named by Pomel (1872) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-l K Sn Sepkoski's reference number: 1021,1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Cytoraciinae.
It was assigned to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cytoraciinae by Finks et al. (2004).
