Simpulum antillarum cercadicum was named by Maury (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. Its type specimen is Holotype (no number), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cymatium (Monoplex) cercadicum by Beu and Kay (1988); it was recombined as Monoplex cercadicus by Beu (2010) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
