It was assigned to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Periplomatidae by Glenn (1904), Russell and Landes (1937), Vokes (1980), Tashiro and Kozai (1982), Farinati (1985), Lamprell and Healy (1998), Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999), Stilwell et al. (2004), Anelli et al. (2006) and Bouchet et al. (2010).
