Plummeroceras plummeri
Taxonomy
Grypoceras (Plummeroceras) plummeri was named by Kummel (1953) [Texas Bureau of Economic Geology]. Its type specimen is BEG 7173 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is B.E.G. 30-T-9 (H-6), Baird, Callahan County, which is in an Artinskian coastal siliciclastic in the Belle Plains Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Grypoceras (Plummeroceras).
It was recombined as Plummeroceras plummeri by Teichert et al. (1964).
