Xancus falconensis was named by Hodson (1931). Its type specimen is PRI 24111, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Xancus validus falconensis by Woodring (1964); it was recombined as Turbinella falconensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
