Taxonomy
Pteromya was named by Moore (1861) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae J Hett-l Sepkoski's reference number: 715]. It is not extant. Its type is Pteromya crowcombeia.
It was assigned to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratomyidae by Cox (1963), Marquez-Aliaga et al. (2010) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
