Chainodictyon bashkiricum was named by Nikiforova (1939). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 103/5669 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lipovaya Mountain, Outcrop 7, Asha, which is in a Sakmarian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.
