Taxonomy
Ancilla caroniana was named by Maury (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is USNM 352665, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ancilla (Eburna) caroniana by Woodring (1964); it was recombined as Eburna caroniana by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
