Cancellaria (Bivetopsia) moorei pachia was named by Smith (1940). Its type specimen is FLMNH UF 1319, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cancellaria (Bivetopsia) pachia by Landau et al. (2007); it was recombined as Bivetopsia pachia by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010), Landau et al. (2012) and Landau et al. (2012).
