Taxonomy
Orthotetes otoeis was named by Lee and Gu (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huanggangliang, Undivided, Keshenketeng, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian marine horizon in the Huanggangliang Formation of China.
It was recombined as Derbyia otoeis by Clapham (2015).
