Taxonomy
Pleurotoma henikeri was named by Sowerby (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Turris (Surcula) henekeni by Gabb (1873) and Gabb (1873); it was corrected as Pleurotoma henekeni by Guppy (1876); it was recombined as Drillia henekeni by Maury (1917), Oinomikado (1939) and Barrios (1960); it was recombined as Crassispira henekeni by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Crassispira (Crassispira) henekeni by Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Hindsiclava henekeni by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
