Taxonomy
Orthotetes simplicis was named by Lee and Gu (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhagan Chulu, Undivided, Bayan Wulan, Jalaid Qi, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian marine horizon in China.
It was recombined as Derbyia simplicis by Clapham (2015).
