Katastrophomena penkillensis

Taxonomy
Strophonella penkillensis was named by Reed (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bargany Pond Burn (= Lauchlan Burn), Girvan, which is in a Telychian basinal (siliciclastic) siltstone in the Wood Burn Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Katastrophomena penkillensis by Cocks (1968); it was misspelled as Katastrophomena pen by Baarli (1987); it was recombined as Katastrophomena (Katastrophomena) penkillensis by Reed (1917) and Rubel (2011).
