Tuboculops was named by Hesselbo (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1031]. It is not extant. Its type is Chraspedops fragilis.
It was assigned to Merostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aglaspididae by Hesselbo (1992), Ortega-Hernandez et al. (2013) and Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).
