Turbo duplicatus was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Zaria.
It was recombined as Turritella duplicata by Martin (1879); it was recombined as Zaria duplicata by Shuto (1974) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
