Turbinellus affinis was named by Sowerby (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Europe, Pakistan/]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Xancus affinis by Dey (1961); it was recombined as Turbinella affinis by Vredenburg (1925) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
