Pleurotoma (Gemmula) congener mekranica was named by Vredenburg (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; India, Pakistan.]. Its type specimen is Unknown number, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Gemmula mekranica by Harzhauser et al. (2009).
