Taxonomy
Almites ventrosus was named by Leonova (1982). Its type specimen is PIN 3591/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Igrimiyuz Creek, Sample 8824c, Pamir Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Kochusu Formation of Tajikistan.
