Cerithium moniliferum was named by Deshayes (1854). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pirenella monilifera by Glibert and de Heinzelin (1954); it was recombined as Granulolabium plicatum moniliferum by Marquet et al. (2008).
