Turbonilla laevissima was named by Bosquet (1859). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Syrnola laevissima by Görges (1952); it was recombined as Odostomia (Puposyrnola) laevissima by Glibert and de Heinzelin (1954); it was recombined as Puposyrnola laevissima by Janssen (1963); it was recombined as Syrnola (Puposyrnola) laevissima by Marquet et al. (2008).
