Bulla turgidula was named by Sandberger (1859). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Roxania (Mnestia) turgidula by Cossmann (1895); it was recombined as Bullaria turgidula by Albrecht and Valk (1943); it was recombined as Atys (Aliculastrum) turgidulus by Glibert (1962); it was recombined as Cylichna (Mnestia) turgidula by Kuster-Wendenburg (1973); it was recombined as Mnestia turgidula by Marquet et al. (2008).
