Taxonomy
Moselopterus was named by Størmer (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 360]. It is not extant. Its type is Moselopterus ancylotelson. It is the type genus of Moselopteroidea, Moselopteridae.
It was assigned to Eurypterida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Moselopteridae by Lamsdell et al. (2010) and Dunlop et al. (2020).
