Cassis (Cypraecassis) sculpta was named by Sowerby (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Europe, Pakistan.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Cassidea (Bezoardica) sculpta by Vredenburg (1925); it was recombined as Semicassis sculpta by Harzhauser et al. (2009).
