Taxonomy
Notoblattites mitchelli was named by Tillyard (1918). Its type specimen is Mitchell Coll. 1,2, a wing (Fragment), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Glenlee railway cutting, which is in a Pelsonian/Illyrian pond shale in the Ashfield Shales Formation of Australia.
