Pseudostrombus pauluccianus was named by De Stefani and Pantanelli (1879). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Dorsanum (Dorsanum) pauluccianum by Malatesta (1974); it was recombined as Cyllene paulucciana by Chirli (2000); it was recombined as Cyllenina paulucciana by Landau et al. (2009).
